SCHOOL SONG – “Dear William Raines”
Dear William Raines
The School we all adore
We thine alone will be forever more
With love at heart, great heights ahead,
We stand within they wall
We cherish thee, we honor thee, and love thee
Best of all
To our great school of which we are proud
No greater fame has anywhere been found
With glowing hearts we see thee rise
Thy heights are yet unknown
Dear William Raines
Thou seem to be a king upon a throne
Dear William Raines, glorious and free
We pledge our love, we pledge our love to thee

CLASS SONG: “THE TIME IS NOW (tune – I’ll Be There)
Our new life has just begun
Time has come to end the fun
Today and forever
The time is now
Here our school we must depart
But it remains deep in our heart
Today and forever
The time is now
There are times when things go wrong
And to take it to the end, you must be strong
We have labored twelve long years
To learn to keep going on
So today our struggle ends
And we will leave as brand new men
Today and forever
The time is now
We must show what we have learned
By the life we’ll live and earn
Today and forever
The time is now

CLASS POEM – OUR BEGINNING IS NOW
by Brenda Streater
As our last school year comes to and end
We must remember and we must begin
To show and to give our utmost appreciation
To those who gave their time to us without hesitation
To those who helped to guide us in the right direction
To make the class of 1971 that of perfection
As our last school year draws nigh
To us there is no greater school than William Raines High
Through your doors each day we anxiously walked
Knowing that one day all of this would come to a halt
We will have fond memories of all the years
We shared with fellow classmates so sincere
And of the good times and of the bad
But especially of all the excitement we had
But most of all we will always cherish the love and the fun
Shared by all those in the Class of 1971
